Overview:
Leukemia is a
cancer that generally forms in blood cells or bone marrow. In most instances,
leukemia form in white blood cells, which assist the body, fight infections. The
disease usually takes place in older adults, but it also is the most common
cancer in younger children. Leukemia has many kinds, and the disease can be
acute, or rapid-growing, or chronic, or sluggish-growing. Exclusive forms of
leukemia might also require distinctive treatments.
